Founded in 2015, United Standard takes shape from an intuition of Giorgio Di Salvo, a young artist born and raised in Milan who knows his way around graphic design, music and many other disciplines. Worldwide renowned for VNGRD and his longtime friendship with Marcelo Burlon and Virgil Abloh, Giorgio has finally chose to throw himself in a self-produced project. United Standard postmodern aesthetic comes from his peculiar idea of creative factory, intended as a rousing space where mechanics, workwear and rave culture blend together, creating all-around collections that wonder about the relationship between man and technology. His fashion is driven by an obsessive research attitude, as he constantly keeps trying to rewrite streetwear models following his own philosophy, based upon exploration and influences of different subcultures. This can be seen above all on the accessories, including belts and keychains, where all the features over here find their highest expression. Plus, every United Standard T-shirt and sweatshirt hides a small universe of quotes and references, like breadcrumbs leading to the exact goal of the label, which takes cues from sportswear, workwear and lifestyle evoking an attitude that goes beyond the current limits of our imagination.
