Joshy D started following its passion by printing its lively sketches on blank white tees, just in order to earn many extra dollars during high-school: he grabbed elements from its graffiti-rooted past and exploited the help of Mike Giant, a talented tatoo-artist and street artist born in New York but quickly moved to New Mexico. Even the name's brand comes from a pun revolving around the word "Revelation" - first turned into "Revelate", and last Rebel 8 - and jumped out of nowhere, simply following his gut. The Rebel 8 crew casually depicts scenes of the hidden Los Angeles, going deep into skate, graffiti and tattoo roots of the Cali heaven to connect with the most private soul of the city through Mike Giant's graphics, which look up to his past while being influenced by skate decks decorations and covers of metal bands - a stratified, personal style.Born in 2003, now Rebel 8 could boast a wide catalog featuring short sleeve T-shirts, sweats, caps and jackets: hard work and a natural talent for graphic arts are joined by an obsessive care to production and a special attention to details, giving birth to rich and well-balanced collections, where skull prints and harsh illustrations share the stage with band tees and basic hoodies. As a proud representative of that punk, uprising side of modern streetwear, Rebel 8 T-shirts and crewnecks grab everyone's eye due to an unmatched flair: Los Angeles becomes the spot where Joshy and Mike could freely express their art, answering the sub-cultures' call to launch an original message, based on the contrast between black and white through simple yet significant prints.
