Nike M2K Tekno

The Nike M2K Tekno are the evolution of the Air Monarch, launched in 2002 and generally regarded as the original "dad shoes". Despite an impressive archive, Nike has never settled for the same old sneakers: the M2K remixes key aspects of the Air Monarch in a brand new streamlined design, yet as striking as every other vintage Nike pair. Born as women's sneakers only, they've been quickly adapted to men's sizes due to their multifaceted hype. As told by their designer Jin Hong, they've been able to rethink the "chunky shoes" in a more modern twist, adding shiny new elements that didn't jeopardise the original structure. Leather and synthetic overlays taps the multi-layer upper, but it's the thick midsole that grab all the eyes as well as pushing the cushioning level over the top. With this renewed street flair, few details risk to go unnoticed, namely the mini Swoosh on the heel and a maxi tongue that features a vertical Nike logo. If the Nike Air Monarch set up the look of early '00s, now the M2K Tekno promise to do the same for the next decade. Scroll down and check out the chunkiest styles from the Swoosh!
