It all started in 1977 as Frank Rudy - a former NASA engineer fond of sneakers - started being involved in Nike, an up-and-coming brand founded by a great friend of Frank and former track coach at the Oregon University, namely Phil Knight. We waited 10 years before seeing the first Air bladders applied to many Nike sneakers: the Air Technology debut changed the paradigm and raised the standards for the thriving running sneakers market of that time.Launched during the Air Max Month celebrations dated March 2017, Nike Air Vapormax drived the Air Cushioning process to another level boasting a full-length Air Unit, placed underneath in direct contact with the upper. The peerless cushioning of Air Vapormax sole protects from ground impacts exploiting the Air hollow sections, while mesh and Flyknit - an amazingly elastic texture developed by Nike itself - secure breathability. Always looking into the future, Vapormax directly connect upper and sole, removing any midsole to convey the impression of walking on clouds to perceive the Air like never before. Patenting a new technology is never enough for Nike though: a whole new generation of hybrid sneakers mixing historic features with the innovative Vapormax sole started popping out. Born after merging Nike Air Tuned and the latest add to the Beaverton roster, Nike AIr Vapormax Plus drew inspiration from Nike archives to shape a bold design: same goes for Vapormax Utility, a waterproof and winter-ready iteration. Brace the changing and check out Vapormax!
