Nike Air Max Tailwind IV

Launched in 1979, the Air Tailwind deserve credit for introducing the Air Sole system, laying the groundwork for the next 10 years of Nike sneakers. Actually, the series reached their peak in 1999 with the Air Max Tailwind IV, the first Tailwind ever equipped with a double cushioning, both visible in the forefoot and the heel. Also for this, they’re often compared to the Air Max Plus, a similarity further enhanced by a daring upper packed with reflective details and mini Swoosh logos applied. Twenty years after the OG, the Beaverton company brings back few vintage colorways including that Nike “Volt” shade that ended up covering many other Air Max styles.Since this retro was deeply felt by the sneakerheads community and more, the Swoosh got it right: made of leather and mesh, the upper reflects the original one without neither messing with the faded prints on the upper nor changing the the Air Unit. A crucial model to fully understand the cultural impact of the Air Max series returns after years of waiting: check out the renovated Air Max Tailwind IV on SPECTRUM!
