Nike Air Max 93

No doubt the ultimate expression of Nike's "Big is Better" philosophy was the Air Max 93 of 1993. Those Nike sneakers were built around the biggest Air Unit until then and came from a bizarre idea of the bizarre Tinker Hatfield, VP in Chief for Designs and Special Projects at the Beaverton headquarter.Tinker was struck by the idea of implementing plastic milk jugs into the Air Max line while looking for new blow-moulding plastic techniques. Eventually resulting in a stunning 270 degree heel visible Air Sole, this Nike's head-turning model highlighted the huge heel bladder through vibrant colors and lively contrasts. The original 'Menthol' colorway consisted of a mesh, nubuck and leather upper along with a cozy neoprene inner sock given by Tinker's passion for outdoor activities. This vintage running shoe also encompasses a double embroidered Swoosh logo, padded insole and tonal inserts. This time, bigger definitely rhymes with comfier: Air Max 93 also boast a heel insert improving the cushioning of these running kicks, now widespread like popular lifestyle sneakers. Air Max 93 had a second life as basketball sneakers after Charles barkley started rocking the model and giving its contribute to its evolution, leading to Nike Air Force Max 93 worn all throughout his MVP season. Nike always takes care of its past retro runners, but nothing compares to the innate elegance of Air Max 93.
