Nike Air Max 2 Light

The first sneaker brand ever to bring back on shelves a sneaker no longer produced was Nike, driven by a crowd of nostalgic collectors to put back on the market the "Uptowns". Now the so-called "retro" phenomenon is a Swoosh exclusive, since it's the only brand that can rely on a boundless catalog of iconic sneakers. Anyway, sometimes one Air Max can be reissued five or six times while another may wait for decades. It took 25 years for the comeback of the Air Max2 Light, a period during which vintage runners regain streetwear favors.First unveiled in 1994, these Air Max is intended to be the natural evolution of the Air Max2. What's special it the Air Unit, split into four air chambers with dual pressure, hence the nickname Air Max "Squared". The two Air bladders right under the heel (5 psi) are soft and elastic, while the external ones (25 psi) way tighter to keep the foot well-placed. Moreover, the Air Max2 Light managed to turn the weakness of every running sneaker - aka the sole - into their strong suit, easing the structure by using Phylon, a material made of thermoplastic EVA pellets. But it was all thanks to the upper that Air Technology managed to shine. The multi-layer mesh, suede and leather construction was good for extreme colorways, usually enriched by reflecting heel details and by the custom logo of the silhouette.
