The Parisian label joined the populated series of skate-focused and skater-owned European brands, following the Swedish Polar Skate and the Dutch Pop Trading Company. A collection of printed Made in Portugal hoodies presents artworks by artists from the international creative scenario, repurposed on t-shirts and skateboard decks, defining an easily recognizable identity. The signature tape treatment of its skate videos, featuring pros from celebrated skateboard institutions like Palace and Magenta, blended with Futur’s hyper-contemporary languages, made the French label gain global recognition. In these years of cross-contamination between skateboarding and sportswear, Mizuno commissioned the French label two Wave Prophecy iterations alongside a running capsule spanning from a performance hardshell to a waterproof cap. To embody the brand’s apparently opposite push toward performance-driven garments and high-crafted goods, Futur collaborated with French orthopedic brand Memphisto on a GORE-TEX® lined Barracuda, featuring the Anarcho Mountaineering logo testifying their radical approach to the gorpcore bubble and subcultures.
